You know when you know that there’s something not quite right, but you just don’t know what it is? You just can’t put your finger on it? It’s that “something’s not quite right” that we’re going to chat about on the program today.

Whenever life looks and feels dull, whenever I find myself thinking about the future with that sense of doom and gloom, I know there’s something wrong. I mean … seriously wrong.

Sure, our emotions go up and down – that’s normal. Some days are tough, and we’re not meant to live on Cloud Nine all the time.

But sometimes we get into this whole down, down, down thing don’t we? And particularly as we look to the year ahead, as we tend to do this time of year, that’s not a good thing.

Question: do you believe in Jesus? I’m serious. Have you accepted Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Saviour? If you have, then you know something’s seriously wrong if you’re not optimistic about your future.

One of the reasons that happens is that our own bad attitudes, our own bad behaviour, our own – let’s call it for what it is … sin – is dragging us down. That’s what sin does. So here’s a powerful bit of advice to lift you back up to where God means you to be:

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, “Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Then God will forgive your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

If your sin is dragging you down and clouding your hope for the future, then turn your life over to Jesus afresh and anew today. He’ll wipe your slate clean and fill you with His Spirit. It doesn’t get any better than that!

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
