It seems to me that 99.9 per cent of life, is the daily humdrum. That daily cadence of doing the same thing, day, after day, after day. And in the midst of that mundane drudgery, it’s easy to imagine that we’re the only person on the planet who feels this way.

I don’t care what it is that you do in life, how glamorous and exciting it may appear to others, one of the biggest problems, is that we get bored by doing the same thing over and over, day-after-day.

So far this year, I’ve travelled to14 countries across Asia, north America, Africa. Each time I get home, people say to me, “Berni it must be amazing to be able to travel like that.” It is! And I see God doing some amazing things.

But when the receptionist at the hotel asks you for your room number and you just can’t remember, because you’ve slept in so many rooms lately, you realise, it’s hard. And it’s easy to get jaded, tired, fed-up, bored with whatever your particular routine demands of you.

Mine includes writing, recording and shooting almost 1,100 episodes of radio and television each year in between all the travel. Someone asked me recently, “Don’t you get bored doing the same thing over, and over again?” Good question.

Sure, some days, I don’t feel like getting out of bed, just like the next guy. But then, I close my eyes, breathe in the sweet air God’s given me, thank Him that I’m alive and I remember that He sent His Son, Jesus to this earth so that I could have a life with Him, that goes on forever.

John 3:16 Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life.

It doesn’t get any better than that.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

This was a fantastic message. How good is it to know this wonderful truth. For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son that who so ever believes in Him will have eternal life. amen
