Some people I know think that I’m crazy. Perhaps they’re right. Because I have this crazy notion that God is able to do anything – even the absolutely impossible and especially the absolutely impossible.

While he was telling Mary that she, as a virgin, would give birth to Jesus the Messiah, the Saviour of the world, the angel Gabriel also said:

Luke 1:36,37 And behold, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son, and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For nothing will be impossible with God.

Two complete impossibilities, right there: a virgin and a woman well beyond childbearing age both having children. How could that possibly be? Simple really … for nothing is impossible with God.

Okay, we can believe that that happened two thousand years ago in a land far, far away. After all, it’s easy to believe the impossibilities recorded in the Bible from a distance. But what about the impossibilities in your life?

I remember years ago walking into our small ministry office in Sydney and announcing to our massive global ministry team of three that we were going to expand these Bible teaching messages into Africa. Africa?! We might as well flap our arms and try flying to Mars. Like I said, some people I know think that I’m crazy. But today, we share the love of Christ through the media with millions across Africa every day. A.W. Tozer put it like this:

God is looking for those with whom He can do the impossible – what a pity that we plan only the things that we can do by ourselves.

Nothing is impossible with God! Nothing.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
