Matthew 24:44 So you also must be ready. The Son of Man will come at a time when you don't expect him.

I was just about to sit down to prepare today’s message, when the phone rang. It was a colleague of mine to let me know that another man, Tom, with whom I’d worked for many years, had passed away overnight.

Tom was just a couple of years older than me and in the middle of the night, he had a heart attack without warning. He was one of the most decent human beings that I’ve ever known. Yet it happened so suddenly.

And that’s the way it is. So often we have this plan and that dream. We’ll get around to this and that when we have time. And yet, it all ends so suddenly.

So you also must be ready. The Son of Man will come at a time when you don’t expect him. (Matthew 24:44)

The question is, are you ready if Jesus returns tonight? Are you ready if tonight, your life is demanded of you? Or do you plan on getting around to accepting Jesus Christ as you Saviour some other time? Do you plan on starting to live your life for Him some other time?

Don’t get me wrong, I get it. I know life’s busy. I know you have a lot on your plate, and you’ll get around to it one day.

The problem is though, that “one day”, perhaps even tomorrow, it’ll be too late. Today’s a good day. In fact, it’s the perfect day to turn your life over to Jesus, to start living your life for Him.

Yep. Today is the best day of all. You see, it happens so suddenly.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Death even in Christ our Lord still tugs at our heart, even knowing your friend is with the Lord brings a peace to our soul, it still leaves that sting we are never to forget! Praise God that when we are with him that sting is less than what it is without Him!
Bernie I am travelling for 6 more months! I had the hard copy of Fresh for the first month but now it’s run out and getting it on the net is not always simple when on the road! Would you consider an app travellers can access to keep up with their readings off line! I know that’s not a simple request but I need my daily hits with My Lord especially while away from other Christian contact! Please pray about this that it may be a consideration! Thanks heaps for your ongoing support with my Spritual walk while travelling and when at home!

Commiserations to you, Berni. So sorry you lost your friend. May God be with you and his family at this sad time. God Bless.

Thanks Berni for the message today. How true that we must be ready at all times to meet our God! So many of today’s sermons are all about blessings and living to the fullest, but rarely do you hear a word that Jesus is coming, walk in holiness, forsake your sins. Luke 21 says to watch and pray always that we may be accounted worthy to escape what is coming and to stand before Jesus Christ. Thanks again!
