James 1:5 Do any of you need wisdom? Ask God for it. He is generous and enjoys giving to everyone. So he will give you wisdom. But when you ask God, you must believe. Don’t doubt him. Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea that is blown up and down by the wind

I don’t think there’s a single person on planet Earth who, right in this instant, is living the perfect life – a life that’s completely problem-free. So what are the problems in your life? Are you dealing with them, or not?
I don’t know if you’re familiar with the cartoon series called “Charlie Brown” but it’s one of my absolute favourites.
One day, Linus and Charlie Brown are walking along and chatting with one another. Linus says, “I don’t like to face problems head on. I think the best way to solve problems is to avoid them. In fact, it’s a distinct philosophy of mine that no problem is so big or complicated that it can’t be run away from!”
Now that may work for Linus, but not in real life. When we try to avoid problems, they tend to keep coming back, bigger and bigger.
I wonder, right now, what the problems are that you’re avoiding – relationships, financial, personal. You can ignore them for a while, but at the end of the day life will be so much better when you confront them and deal with them – however unpalatable that might seem.
Okay, so perhaps you don’t know how to confront them, how to deal with them.
James 1:5,6 Do any of you need wisdom? Ask God for it. He is generous and enjoys giving to everyone. So he will give you wisdom. But when you ask God, you must believe. Don’t doubt him. Whoever doubts is like a wave in the sea that is blown up and down by the wind.
Whatever gave us the idea that we have to solve all our problems on our own? God’s wisdom is available for you right here and right now.
Just believe and ask, because He gives it freely and ungrudgingly each and every time.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
