Psalm 139:13-14 You formed the way I think and feel. You put me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because you made me in such a wonderful way. I know how amazing that was!

Sarah, the young woman who runs the coffee shop near our office, is a real character; a gold stud in her nose, loud, but lovable. You know the sort.

The other day, she’s on her mobile phone and a five-year-old is making such a terrible noise in the coffee shop. Very calmly, she excuses herself, drops the phone to her side and yells at the top of her lungs, “QUIET!”.

Dead silence.

Now if I’d done that, everyone would’ve been offended, right? But Sarah’s just one of those people who can get away with that sort of thing.

I’m not suggesting for one moment that we should all yell at five-year-olds. But I love it that God has made each one of us so differently. We’re each so unique. And yet all too often, we let those differences upset us. We let the Sarah’s rub us the wrong way. Somehow, we want everyone to be … well, like us.

But really, the fact that we’re all so different is an amazing blessing. Here’s how one man put it, as he was talking to God:

You formed the way I think and feel. You put me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because you made me in such a wonderful way. I know how amazing that was! (Psalm 139:13-14)

When you think about it – it is amazing that God made you who you are, me who I am, and Sarah who she is.

Sure, other people can rub us the wrong way. But then … the world would be such a boring place without the Sarah’s in our lives.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Good message, Berni. I’m ME and I think I’m ok. Other people tell me I’m lovable and giving and a lovely person, so I must be doing something right. Hope so.
