Ephesians 4:22-24 You were taught to leave your old self behind. This means that you must stop living the evil way you lived before. That old self gets worse and worse, because people are fooled by the evil they want to do. You must be made new in your hearts and in your thinking. Be that new person who was made to be like God, truly good and pleasing to him.

If you could change just one thing in your life right now, what would that be? I’m not talking about other people, or your circumstances out there. I’m talking about you. If you could change one thing about you, what would you change?

Mistakes happen. Come on … we’ve all done things that we’ve regretted. We’ve all made decisions or said things or gone in this direction rather than that, and realised that we just got it wrong.

Of course, those “mistakes” often have ramifications, those “mistakes” cause loss and pain – that’s what the emotion of regret is all about. And honestly, the smartest thing that you and I can do – seriously – is to stop making the same mistakes over and over again.

Right here – on day one of this new year – it’s time to decide, wouldn’t you agree?

Ephesians 4:22-24 You were taught to leave your old self behind. This means that you must stop living the evil way you lived before. That old self gets worse and worse, because people are fooled by the evil they want to do. You must be made new in your hearts and in your thinking. Be that new person who was made to be like God, truly good and pleasing to him.

Here’s some good news to kick off this new year. God wants you to be the new person He made you to be, and He’s right here with you, right in this moment, to give you all the power you need to live that new life.

So here’s the choice. Keep on with the old same-old, same-old, or leave your old self behind. Stop reliving those same mistakes over and over again. Stop having to live through those same consequences over and over again.

And be that new person who God made you to be.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
