Ephesians 1:17 I always pray to the great and glorious Father, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that he will give you the Spirit, who will let you know truths about God and help you understand them, so that you will know him better.

I was chatting with a friend, Tony, recently. We were talking about our natural tendency to ask God to fix our problems. This is what Tony said:

I’m going through a really tough time at the moment – and I realised I was praying about my finances and all the things that were stressing me out. And yet in the middle of it all, what I felt was God tugging at my heart, drawing me closer to Himself.

And the closer He drew me, the more wisdom I had to deal with the issues. The closer He drew me, the more peace I had and the more joy I had. And right there, in the middle of this mess, I discovered that God wanted to take me to a new level – not higher, but deeper; deeper into Himself. I didn’t realise that that’s what I need. But it’s exactly what I needed.

I don’t know – do you think Tony’s onto something?

I always pray to the great and glorious Father, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that he will give you the Spirit, who will let you know truths about God and help you understand them, so that you will know him better. (Ephesians 1:17)

How often do we ask God to fix our problems, while all along, He wants to teach us, to know Him better? Because at the end of the day, that’s where the solution to all our problems actually lies.

The truth, the wisdom, the peace, the joy that we need in the middle of that storm … it’s all there, as He draws us deeper into Himself.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

“Thy will be done” I have learnt to trust in this phrase a lot more and it does give me comfort and some peace, helps me through the tougher times knowing that the big man really does have my back.

And Patrick keep asking for the miracles as he is a loving God, you never know when he may through out gift you asked for to say thank you for loving and trusting in him.

Thanks Berni! Love recieving this messages in my inbox every day!

Much love to all,

That’s true Berni. But does that mean we stop praying for Miracles in our lives?
