Download audio fileThe Holy Grail for many a person is on the one hand, to have the fantastic life they’re hoping for, but on the other, not to have to do the things, to make the sacrifices needed, to get themselves there. You know, the best of both worlds. But that’s not how life works.
We’re strange animals you and I. We want God in our lives … and yet, we don’t want to listen to Him.
Can I tell you, the church is full of people like that. They sing songs about the Holy Spirit, about being in God’s Presence, about worshipping and praising Him. They listen to the sermon, sometimes attentively, other times, most times, not so much. And then they complain that God feels like He’s a million miles away.
Truth is that most times, we want God and all His benefits, we just don’t want to do the things we need to do, to ditch the things we need to ditch, to set our lives on the right path.
I wonder … do you know anyone like that?
Can I ask you, how long is it since you’ve prayed something like this?

Do you beat down His door in your daily prayer time, asking Him to show you how He wants you to live? Or are you one of those people who wants all His benefits, but doesn’t want to do the things you need to do?
Lord, help me learn your ways. Show me how you want me to live.
