Matthew 6:25-27 So I tell you, don’t worry about the things you need to live—what you will eat, drink, or wear. Life is more important than food, and the body is more important than what you put on it. Look at the birds. They don’t plant, harvest, or save food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. Don’t you know you are worth much more than they are? You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it.

Right now, of all the things that you have going on in your life, what’s the one thing that’s front of mind? What’s the one thing that’s bothering you most? And how effectively are you dealing with it?

Question: How much of your brain time do you spend worrying about things that are out of your control? You might actually be shocked at the answer.

Have you ever thought about how completely useless worrying is? Something is out of your control and depending on which way it falls, this way or that, something bad could happen to you. So what you do is … you worry.

What is worry? Well, it’s dreaming up all the bad possibilities that could eventuate and turning them over and over and over again in your mind and imagining that they’re all going to happen to you at the same time. But here’s another way, a better way …

He has a point, don’t you think? Worrying is completely useless. It never resulted in a single positive outcome; in fact, worse than that, it’s downright destructive because it takes your eyes off the promises of God.

I wonder what your life would look like if you used the time that you would have spent worrying about something to pray about it instead.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Absolutely truthful. Great little reminder.
Father forgive our unbelief!
