Download audio fileSo, at what point does God lose patience with you? At what point does He say, “That’s it! Enough! No more! I’m done with you!”? That’s a scary thought that I’m sure has crossed your mind more than once.
The truth is that you and I have a great propensity to want to love, honour, and obey God on the one hand, but also to fall back into the same old sin time and again on the other. Like the Apostle Paul, we want to do what’s right, but we just don’t seem to be able to do it.
And the longer that goes on, the more we begin to doubt the mercy and the grace of God. Surely at some point, God’s patience has to run out. Perhaps it already has.

From God’s eternal perspective, there’s no difference between a day and a thousand years. So now His patience takes on a whole new meaning. Maybe, just maybe, the reason Christ hasn’t yet returned, the reason He hasn’t called you home yet, is because He’s being patient with you, not wanting you to perish, but rather waiting for you to repent.
Never doubt God’s mercy, His grace and His patience in your life. When you fall, turn back to Him … quickly. Because it’s living your life in the full knowledge of that mercy, that grace, that patience, that’ll lead you gently yet powerfully into repentance.
