Luke 13:14-17 The synagogue leader was angry because Jesus healed on the Sabbath day. He said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come to be healed on one of those days. Don’t come for healing on the Sabbath day.” The Lord answered, “You people are hypocrites! All of you untie your work animals and lead them to drink water every day—even on the Sabbath day. This woman that I healed is a true descendant of Abraham. But Satan has held her for 18 years. Surely it is not wrong for her to be made free from her sickness on a Sabbath day!” When Jesus said this, all those who were criticizing him felt ashamed of themselves. And all the people were happy for the wonderful things he was doing.

Well, here we are at the beginning of that funny little week between Christmas and New Year – that place of almost suspended animation, as we think back on the year that’s been, and look ahead at the year to come.

If you’ve been able to journey with me over this past week, you’ll know that we’ve been chatting about grace. Well, God’s grace is huge. It’s life-changing. So let’s dive back in, because this radical grace of God is meant to clean the slate of your past sin and open the door for a radically changed life ahead, not just in theory, but in practice. So let’s make the rubber hit the road here.

Jesus healed that woman despite the fact that it was against the religious rules. That’s radical grace, the same healing grace that He has ready and waiting for you.

A radical Jesus. A radical grace. Ready, waiting … for you.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
