Acts 13:38 Brothers, understand what we are telling you. You can have forgiveness of your sins through this Jesus. The Law of Moses could not free you from your sins. But you can be made right with God if you believe in Jesus.

Easter. Yes, chocolate. Yes, a long weekend. Yes, church … perhaps. And yet Easter speaks into one of the most profound needs that each one of us has … to be forgiven.

Now, we may not always put it in those words. But for half a lifetime, despite my outwards bravado and confidence, and so-called success, something always nagged away inside me. This sense that somehow, I wasn’t good enough. That something wasn’t quite right.

Finally I realised that I wasn’t good enough. Finally I realised that things weren’t as they should be. Finally! And it was in that realisation that Jesus reached out to me with His scarred hands and through the Cross, through the sacrifice of Easter and spoke His forgiveness into my heart.

Brothers, understand what we are telling you. You can have forgiveness of your sins through this Jesus. The Law of Moses could not free you from your sins. But you can be made right with God if you believe in Jesus. (Acts 13:38)

Finally being made right with God, by trusting in what Jesus did. It’s like finally making it home after a long and difficult journey.

At last … peace. At last … rest. At last … that sense of knowing that despite the fact that I’m not good enough, in fact because of it, Jesus set things right at the cross. It’s never been the same since.

But today is Easter Sunday, resurrection day. Today is a celebration of a new life. A life that will go on without end, forever and ever in the Presence of God.

You can’t live that new life until you’ve been forgiven; until you’ve been made right with God. Have you been forgiven? Have you accepted Jesus as the only one who can ever possibly make you right with God and save you from the dreadful consequences of your sin?

Then that new life is yours. That resurrection life is yours. But it’s not a life to be squandered. It’s not a life to be wasted. If you’ve accepted Jesus as your life-saver then accept Him as the Lord of your life as well. Live your life for Him. Throw your hat, all that you are, in the ring for Him. Anything less is a wasted life.

It’s time to live that resurrection life. Don’t waste it.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Praying for you Stewart. My prayer for you is the same as Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians… Eph 1:17-22. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Amen to that Colin. A great insight. Thank you. Berni@CW

I think that after being “cut to the heart” through the message of the Cross and Christs resurrection, that, the crowd who asked, “what should we do?” We’re so relieved to hear from Peter the message of Salvation.
Their conviction is tangible.
Thank God for the work of the Holy-Spirit.

Exactly what I needed to hear and it goes hand in hand with today’s message at church. Thank you.

I have always had a problem with gambling, then one day as I sat in the house Isaid to my wife “I haven’t gambled today and don’t feel like it,thank you LORD” this went on for six month ir so and it was so good. By the way the LORD had already saved me from alcoholism, smoking and depression over a 40 year cycle. Been sober 13years now Thank you LORD but I mentioned one day to a friend that the LORD had freed me from my gambling too but since then I have started gambling again. I have self excluded myself from most bookmakers but the feeling of being set feel “the compulsion may be”is back and it had been taken away from me. Could you maybe have a prayer if possible for me as I need to get closer to the LORD I know I do. Thank you and GOD Bless you and all your works.
