Isaiah 40:6-8 A voice said, "Speak!" So the man said, "What should I say?" The voice said, "People are like grass. Any glory they enjoy is like a wildflower. Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing right now, just stop and take a look around. Everything that you can lay your eyes on, everything you can see, will one day be gone … except for just one thing:

I know people who have two, three, four different Bibles all gathering dust in a cupboard or on a shelf somewhere. And yet, I’ve seen these same people in church on Sunday, who, when it comes to looking at a particular verse or chapter, they’ve left their Bible at home and they can’t even seem to muster the energy to lean forward to pick up the pew Bible in front of them.
God’s Word is something that people seem to take for granted, or don’t think is relevant. I don’t know what it is. And yet invariably, these are the very same people who just can’t understand why God doesn’t sort out this problem or that issue, in their lives.
Just as the Prophet Isaiah said, everything on this earth comes and goes. But the thing that will stand forever … is the Word of God. When God speaks, things happen. When God speaks, do yourself a favour – pay attention. Don’t ignore Him. Because the Word of God will stand forever.
