Isaiah 40:21,22 Surely you know the truth, don’t you? Surely you have heard. Surely someone told you long ago. Surely you understand who made the earth. It is the Lord who sits above the circle of the earth. And compared to him, people are like grasshoppers. He rolled open the skies like a piece of cloth. He stretched out the skies like a tent to sit under.

You’ll often hear me talking about the law of proximity. Put simply, the closer something is, the bigger it appears, and the further away it is the smaller it appears. So proximity, as things turn out, distorts reality – incredibly so.

Okay, so let’s assume for a minute that God is indeed God; that He created you and me; that He sent His Son Jesus to die for us on the cross.

So if all that’s true, then what view does God have of your life? I mean, if you wanted to look at your life through the same window that God does – what’s that window like?

Is it a small window? The sort that doesn’t let much light in? The sort that doesn’t let you see very far ahead? Does God look at our lives through a tight little window, or does He have a much bigger perspective; a huge window – the sort that allows abundant light to stream in, the sort that allows Him to see possibilities much farther down the track than you could ever see?

Come on, what sort of perspective does God have on your life?

Isaiah 40:21,22 Surely you know the truth, don’t you? Surely you have heard. Surely someone told you long ago. Surely you understand who made the earth. It is the Lord who sits above the circle of the earth. And compared to him, people are like grasshoppers. He rolled open the skies like a piece of cloth. He stretched out the skies like a tent to sit under.

Answer: God has a huge perspective, a huge view. So the next time you run into an obstacle that’s way too big for you to handle … remember, your God is a huge God, with a huge view and with power that you cannot begin to contemplate.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
