Philippians 4:13 Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do.

I was on a train recently, travelling from the north of England down to London. The seating setup was with two people facing another two people, with a small table in between.

I was chatting with my colleague next to me, when a young woman sitting opposite us, joined in our conversation.

Now she was different. She was a dwarf. But from the moment she hopped on the train, there was something special about her – a quiet sense of confidence about who she was. Her make-up was beautifully done. She was well dressed. And as she spoke to my friend and to me, we discovered that she was a witty, charming individual.

It would have been so easy for her to be self-conscious about having to climb up onto the seat. But instead, she had this quiet confidence in who it was that God had made her to be. She really was a blessing that day.

Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do. (Philippians 4:13)

There are times when we realise that we’re different and that makes us feel all self-conscious. It happens to all of us. I’ve certainly been there. But then, I realise that I am who God made me to be. And it’s Christ in me, who gives me the wherewithal, everything I need, to do the things He’s called me to do.

Don’t ever let self-consciousness – don’t let that nagging sense of inadequacy – ever rob you of what God has for you. It’s Christ who gives you the strength to do what you have to do.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

I think God gives us the strengths to be who and what we are. My friend Lisa has cerabl palsy and walks with a rolator she often has trouble getting on and off buses because the driver will not put the ramp down for her But she will smile at them wish them Gods blessing tell them that God Love’s them . God puts us where we are supposed to be for his purpose.
