2 Corinthians 9:10,11 God is the one who gives seed to those who plant, and he gives bread for food. And God will give you spiritual seed and make that seed grow. He will produce a great harvest from your goodness. God will make you rich in every way so that you can always give freely. And your giving through us will make people give thanks to God.

One of the big mistakes that you and I are prone to making, is limiting God through our own limitations. We see a big problem, a big need, we look at the little we have in our hands and quickly conclude that it’s simply not enough.

Do you remember when Jesus fed the five thousand with two small fish and five barley loaves? The mission seemed impossible. “Send them away,” the disciples said to Jesus. But He replied, “No, you feed them.”

At that point, had I been one of the twelve, I’d have been thinking to myself, “What? Are you crazy?” And the same’s still true today. We look at a problem, consider a need, and think to ourselves, “That’s impossible. Do you know how much that’s going to cost? Do you have any idea? Besides, we’ve never tried anything like that before!”

But what is it that makes us think that God is constrained by our limitations? What makes us think that He didn’t take our capacity, or lack thereof, into account in calling us to be part of one of His mighty works? Seriously!

2 Corinthians 9:10,11 God is the one who gives seed to those who plant, and he gives bread for food. And God will give you a spiritual seed and make that seed grow. He will produce a great harvest from your goodness. God will make you rich in every way so that you can always give freely. And your giving through us will make people give thanks to God.

Who gives us the seed in the first place? God does! Who makes the seed grow? God does! Who will produce a great harvest from your goodness? God will! In fact, He’ll make you rich in every way so that – what? – so that you can always give freely.

Don’t limit God. Plant the seed that He’s given you.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
