Revelation 20:15 And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Heaven, hell, eternity … all that stuff … is so other-worldly that amidst the business of living life, they seem completely irrelevant. But one day, make no mistake, they’re the only thing that’s going to matter. The only thing.

I was listening to some people joking on the radio the other day, about these Christians who believed that there was only one way to God and that one day, the earth would come to an end.

It’s understandable. I mean, it seems so incredible to think that there’s a God and a Heaven and an eternity out there, when we’re so focused on the business of living life. It seems almost incongruous.

And yet, there is a God, there is a Heaven, there is a hell, there is an eternity, and one day this earth will come to an end. One day it’ll be all over. No amount of joking or mocking or disbelief is going to change that.

And when it is over, the only thing that’s going to matter is whether you had a relationship with Jesus or not. That’s it.

Revelation 20:15 And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Listen to me. I know that living your life is a full-time job. I know that you’re busy. I know that you have stresses and strains and ups and downs and twists and turns. I know that.

But one day, perhaps sooner than you think, none of those things will matter. One day, there is the certain prospect of a fearful judgement. And on that day, I want you standing with me, in the confidence of knowing that your name is to be found in the book of life.

Because the alternative, quite frankly, is not worth contemplating.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Hi Clare, I think we all end up in that place at some point. Can I encourage you to download this eBook – How to Get Close to God. I know it has helped many people in your position. Blessings Berni Dymet

The world & it’s frenetic pace & different morals, & behaviour seem a long way from God, Heaven or Hell. We need to know our Gentle Jesus, have a
relationship with God. Yet still Hell terrifies me. And for those of our loved ones who do not profess to know God, but are basically good people, will they go to hell? Please no. I have rapid cycling bipolar & when I am unwell & should need to God more, I don’t. I feel bad about that. The world needs God more than ever. It feels like man has nearly squeezed the life out of the world.

Thank you for a beautiful reminder of the end. I must admit that when I saw the word Revelation, I paused. I have always been frightened of that passage, but you covered it really well. “And on that day I want you standing with me in the confidence of knowing,” but still gave it the importance necessary. Thank you.

So very true.
We need to remember that Satan will use whatever tool he can.
In this day and age it seems to be busyness and the “important” things in life that sneak in to steal our time with God.
It is so important to chat with God through the day and to make time, set time aside, to communicate with Him and read His word. I love falling asleep in praise, because I wake up with those praises in my mind still.
Thank you for these devotions, be Blessed.
Shalom.

Andrew

Thanks Alot, I get alot out of your morning devotions, God bless

Wow I’ve got to tell u that really hit home. I’ve been so distracted lately trying to ignore God I empathise trying because ignoring God is about as possible as trying to fly without wings and I think we all need a reminder of why we are alive every now and again. So thank you and God bless you
