Psalm 127:1,2 If it is not the Lord who builds a house, the builders are wasting their time. If it is not the Lord who watches over the city, the guards are wasting their time. It is a waste of time to get up early and stay up late, trying to make a living. The Lord provides for those he loves, even while they are sleeping.

One of the consequences of this high-tech, high-connectivity world in which we live, is that we can work harder and longer than ever before. And under those circumstances, it’s easy to get a skewed perspective on how much you and I can do, and indeed, need to do.

Have you ever suffered stress from not having enough of something? Enough time to get everything done. Enough money to meet all your commitments. Enough of the resources you need to get done what you need to get done. That can be really stressful, right?

I call this the stress of “not enough” and I’ve been there plenty of times. And so we imagine that we have to work longer, work harder, make more things happen. But that’s only true up to a point.

Think about it. There’s just one of you. One head, one mouth, two ears, two hands, two feet, perhaps a big heart, but that’s it.  We can’t make any more of you. We can’t put more hours in the day. You and I have a finite capacity which, in the big scheme of things, isn’t all that great, right?  So we hit our limit pretty quickly.

God on the other hand doesn’t have any limits. None. His capacity is infinite. His wisdom is infinite. His resources are infinite. And yes, even His cheque book is infinite.

So what makes us think that we have to do His job too?

Psalm 127:1-2 If it is not the Lord who builds a house, the builders are wasting their time. If it is not the Lord who watches over the city, the guards are wasting their time. It is a waste of time to get up early and stay up late, trying to make a living. The Lord provides for those he loves, even while they are sleeping.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Hi CarolAnn,

Trust Him indeed…He has not said and not done!…

Psalms 34:15 “His eyes are on the righteous, and his ears are inclined to their prayers!”

Faith Mwaniki

Hi Rod,

May I submit to you that it gets hard when we desire to see the manifestation before it’s time.

Success we have not been groomed for can turn out to be something else.

Trust that God knows what He is doing and know that you know, that He has you in mind and His heart is for you.

Study the bible daily, you’ll be surprised to learn that every issue you’re facing has its answer in the written and the Living word…

He has not spoken in secret, in hidden places…and He has not called the seed of Jacob to seek Him in vain.

Declare the promises of God over your life and over every situation…

…..for so shall His word be that goes forth from His mouth, it shall not return to Him void!..it shall accomplish that which He desires….it shall prosper in the thing He sent it….Hallelujah!

Every blessing!

Faith Mwaniki

Hi Puseletso,

Absolutely, for it is not by might nor by power, but by the spirit of God!.

Faith Mwaniki

Hi Marie,

Thank you for coming out and being vulnerable …..You will never come second by putting God first!

2 Chronicles 16:9 New King James Version (NKJV)

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him”

Every Blessing.

Angela Burrell

Thank you for reminding me of God’s word and Love for me

Puseletso Mantahli Thobileng

I have learnt that my efforts to be effective should entirely depend on God’s power, not on my own strength.

This is also taking me to Proverbs 3: 5-6.

Oh! Help us God

Rod

Thanks for the word He certainly is great but believing his best for us is sometimes very hard.
Having his promises is the key l believe.

Morna

Thank you very much for this powerful word today. I am truly blessed by it. GOD bless you all

Carmen

Amazing God! Thank you for the words of encouragement.

CarolAnn

I am struggling with that stress now in several different ways, looking for work included. I have worked myself into a frenzy and exhaustion and now, all it seems I can do is just stop and rest. It is so hard waiting on the Lord, but I do hear Him say, ‘Trust me’.
