If I asked you to pick 7 adjectives to describe God, what would they be? And, more to the point, what evidence would you use to support your choices?

I’m not sure exactly what I expected God to be like. Is He an old man with a big stick? Maybe. Is He into religion and churchy stuff? Probably?

And then I stumbled across this Jesus (allegedly the Son of God) and let me tell you, He is absolutely not at all what I expected Him to be. This Jesus who tells it the way it is; who cuts through the religious hypocrisy to the heart of the matter, who rails against the religious leaders of His day and at the same time tends the wounds of the outcasts, the lepers, and brings sight to the blind. This man who called the ordinary people like you and me into the presence of God.

The Jesus of the Bible is both confronting and unexpected. He puts His finger on the stuff in your life that’s wrong … and then, He goes and gets Himself nailed to a brutal, bloody cross, to pay the price for all that stuff that’s wrong.

Nope. This wild, untamed Jesus is definitely not who we expect Him to be, and at times, He’s not at all who we’d like Him to be. For many, it’s far safer to invent a softer, fluffier version of Jesus to suit themselves.

So, let me ask you again, what’s God like?

Thanks Berni.
In other words , if We box Him into a box, He will only be as big as the size of that Box! We all tends to do that , listen to Him at our convenience , if He does not fit inside that box, He is an unfair God and we questioned His existence and His power!
This message is a timely reminder for all His people – His way is higher than our ways….. always ….
