If I asked you to describe God in a sentence of twenty-five words or less, how would you do it? There’s a lot to pack in there isn’t there?

One of the things that I’m truly passionate about is helping you to connect with God – in a deep, intimate and personal way.

Because that’s where you discover the power to live in the victory that Christ won for you. That’s where you discover the joy and the peace that I know you so deeply desire. But some days God feels so distant, doesn’t He?

Here’s a fantastic verse with an insight that explains how to know God on a personal level. How to connect with Him in a way that makes that powerful difference in your life:

Hebrews 1:3 The Son shows the glory of God. He is a perfect copy of God’s nature, and he holds everything together by his powerful command.

The picture here, is of a coin being minted with a die and each coin is punched out exactly the same. It becomes an exact copy as the die comes down on the face of the coin and produces that exact same image.

And that’s what this verse is saying about Jesus. He is the exact image of God. Exactly! As Martin Luther put it, the image of God is deep-graven in His flesh.

So if you want to see God, if you want to know Him personally – what He’s like, how He reacts in certain circumstances, what He likes, what He hates … look at Jesus.

It’s for that very reason that I re-read one of the Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke or John – on a regular basis; to make sure that I know Him firsthand.

So if you want to know God, turn your eyes upon Jesus.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
