Today … something different. I’d like to get up close and personal for a moment just to share my heart with you. Don’t worry … it’s not so much about me. It’s about you. It’s about what God has laid on my heart for you.

Often we read the letters in the New Testament – the epistles as they’re sometimes called – as though they’re merely books of the Bible.

1st Corinthians, 2nd Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians … they just roll off the tongue. But before they were books of the Bible, they were letters from Paul, Peter, John, James and others to real people in real places, going through real “stuff”.

They each have different tones – warmth, love, admonishment. You can easily see that when you read them as letters. To his friends in Philippi for instance, Paul writes this:

Philippians 1:3,4 I thank God every time I remember you. And I always pray for all of you with joy.

And in a very real sense, that’s also true in my heart too, as I get up early each morning to prepare the Fresh message and as I head into radio and TV studios to record them. I don’t just do it as a job. I do it because God’s laid something on my heart for you and the literally millions of others who receive these Fresh messages in over a dozen different languages around the world.

With every fibre of my being, I believe that the Lord our God wants to speak His Word into your heart each day; to touch you with His love, to encourage you and … yes, some days to admonish you.

Why does He do that? Because He loves you more than words can say. And … I thank God every time I remember you. I always pray for you with joy.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
