Leviticus 26:11,12 Revelation 21:3 Also, I will place my Holy Tent among you. I will not turn away from you. I will walk with you and be your God. And you will be my people. I heard a loud voice from the throne. It said, “Now God’s home is with people. He will live with them. They will be his people. God himself will be with them and will be their God.

Download audio fileI don’t know if this happens to you too, but sometimes life seems to kind of just meander along aimlessly … until you shake yourself and wonder where its all headed? What’s the point of it all?
Have you ever wondered if God is indeed God, and if He really did create the whole universe and put us in it, exactly why did He do that? What was the point?
Well, right at the front of the Bible where He’s making a promise to His people, He says this:
Leviticus 26:11,12 Also, I will place my Holy Tent among you. I will not turn away from you. I will walk with you and be your God. And you will be my people.
That’s quite the promise. Back in those days, the so-called gods that all the other nations worshipped lived in temples. You had to go to them. But here God promises to plonk Himself right in the midst of His people, close up and personal, and be on their journey with them. That’s the promise.
And you know, right at the end of the Bible in the second last chapter of the book of Revelation, when He gives us a glimpse of what’s waiting for anyone who believes in Jesus His Son, He says this:
Revelation 21:3 I heard a loud voice from the throne. It said, “Now God’s home is with people. He will live with them. They will be his people. God himself will be with them and will be their God.
And everything in between … history … our own lives? They’re a part of that great journey from God’s promise to its fulfilment. What a powerful promise. What an amazing ending.
I will be your God, and you, you will be my people.
That’s what God’s up to!
And that’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
