On that day when you stand before God, to give an account of your life, can I ask you, what are you going to tell Him?

Credit cards are an amazing convenience. You wander into a shop, something takes your fancy and you can buy it right then and there, even if you don’t have the money, because you have a credit card. So, you do, and another thing, and another thing, living as though there’s no tomorrow.

But eventually, the day of reckoning comes when the bill inevitably arrives. The shopping spree was great, but there’s a price to pay … there always is.

I remember when someone first told me, that one day, I’d have to stand before God to give an account for my life. Really? Surely not!

And yet, we live our lives as though there’s no tomorrow. We spend up big, we get out there and enjoy it all … but one day, there will be a day of reckoning. There always is.

Yes, the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘Everyone will bow before me; everyone will say that I am God.'” So each of us will have to explain to God about the things we do. (Romans 14:11-12)

When you stand before God, what are you going to say to Him? Me – this is what I am going to say, “Lord I know I made so many mistakes. But I’ve put my trust in Jesus because I believe that He paid the price for me.”

What we’re called to do is to put all our eggs in that one basket. What we’re called to do is to put all our trust in Jesus.

There will be a day of reckoning. There always is.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
