1 KwabaseKhorinte 15:44-50 Kuhlwanyelwa kungumzimba wemvelo, kuvuswa kungumzimba womoya. Uma ukhona umzimba wemvelo, ukhona nowomoya. Kanjalo futhi kulotshiwe ukuthi umuntu wokuqala u-Adamu waba ngumphefumulo ophilayo; u-Adamu wokugcina waba ngumoya ophilisayo. Kepha okokuqala akusikho okomoya kodwa okwemvelo; bese kuba ngokomoya. Umuntu wokuqala wavela emhlabeni, engowenhlabathi; umuntu wesibili uvela ezulwini. Njengokuba enjalo owayengowenhlabathi, banjalo nalabo abangabenhlabathi; nanjengokuba enjalo ongowasezulwini, banjalo nabo abangabasezulwini. Futhi njengokuba besinesimo songowenhlabathi, siyakuba nesimo songowasezulwini futhi. Kepha ngisho lokhu, bazalwane, ukuthi inyama negazi akunakulidla ifa elingumbuso kaNkulunkulu; nokubola akulidli ifa elingukungaboli.
I think we’re all agreed that as well as our physical bodies of flesh and blood, deep down inside there’s a spiritual aspect to who we are – an aspect, a dimension, that’s not always that easy to get a handle on.
In this life, it’s our physical nature which comes to the fore, followed by our thoughts and emotions. So when someone new walks into the room, we size them up based on how they look and then on what they say and do. That’s the legacy of Adam (and Eve), if you will.
But if you believe in Jesus, then your resurrection body, which will be yours for eternity, will be quite a different proposition.
1 Corinthians 15:44-50 The body that is “planted” is a physical body. When it is raised, it will be a spiritual body. There is a physical body. So there is also a spiritual body. As the Scriptures say, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam is a life-giving spirit. The spiritual man did not come first. It was the physical man that came first; then came the spiritual. The first man came from the dust of the earth. The second man came from heaven. All people belong to the earth. They are like that first man of earth. But those who belong to heaven are like that man of heaven. We were made like that man of earth, so we will also be made like that man of heaven. I tell you this, brothers and sisters: Our bodies of flesh and blood cannot have a part in God’s kingdom. Something that will ruin cannot have a part in something that never ruins.
Now that’s something to look forward to.
And that’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
