When the Bad Guys are Winning

Romans 8:38,39 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Every now and then in life, it feels like the bad guys are winning.

You’ve tried – Lord knows you’ve tried – to do the right thing. But those demons from your past keep coming up to plunder your life.

Maybe, it’s some deep regret. Maybe, it’s some temptation that keeps on swamping you. Maybe, it’s someone who just keeps on wanting to hurt you.

And no matter how much you try to believe in Jesus, it’s just not working. The bad guys are winning.

What you probably need right now, then, is some good news. Are you ready? Here it is.

Nothing … nothing in this world, nothing that’s not even of this world, no force of darkness or hate or hurt or regret – nothing can separate you from God’s love. No power, no height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will ever be able to separate you from God’s love.

He loves you more than words can say. It’s as simple as that. Really.
