Romans 12:2 Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.

Download audio fileI’m pretty sure that you, like most of us, have things in your makeup that you’d like to change. You’d like to be a better person in this area, or in that situation. But like most, you’ve tried and … well, let’s just say perhaps you haven’t been quite as successful at effecting that change as you’d have liked.
Butterflies are interesting creatures. There are over 18,000 species worldwide with a spectacular variety of colours, shapes and sizes. Some, like the Monarch butterfly, incredibly, migrate thousands of miles from North America to Mexico and back again each year. Others live for only a few weeks.
But they all have one thing in common. They all begin life as a caterpillar that undergoes a miraculous metamorphosis in a cocoon, in a process that represents one of nature’s most dramatic transformations. And that sort of powerful transformation is exactly what God has ready and waiting for you.
Romans 12:2 Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.
What God’s saying here is that when we try to change ourselves, it doesn’t work. We just end up looking like everyone else. But when we allow Him to change us inside (the original Greek word used there is metamorphosis) then we’ll end up living the amazing life that He’s planned for us. Friend, let God change you on the inside.
That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
