Download audio fileWhen you and I place our confidence in ourselves, in our own abilities, we can quickly end up being over-confident. But when you place your confidence in God … well, you can never be over-confident in Him.
As we saw yesterday, we can hold fast to the confession of our hope in God because … He is faithful; ever faithful. He’ll never, never fail you. That’s fantastic news, particularly when your faith’s feeling a bit wobbly.
But doing that on your own, maintaining your confidence in God in isolation, even for the strongest and the most ardent among us, can be a struggle. So …

Our faith, our confidence in God, is like a muscle. It has to be exercised for it to remain strong. That’s why hanging out with fellow believers – loving each other, serving each other, meeting together – is such a powerful habit to be in.
And failing to do so is the worst habit you can possibly fall into, because God made us to be a family where, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we support, serve and encourage one another. That’s how you remain strong in your faith. It’s called “church” – although there are many different models of being together as the body of Christ.
But however you choose to do “church” … do not neglect to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encourage one another.
