Lamentations 3:22-24 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” (ESV)

I wonder if you’ll join me today for a stroll down memory lane – through those unexpected twists and turns, the long dry flat spots and the pleasant strolls through the woods, the cold wet days and the bright sunny ones, the deep dark valleys and the glorious mountain tops.

Life, thus far, well, it’s been quite a journey, hasn’t it? If you’d set out at the beginning to write the script, doubtless you couldn’t have imagined anything that even came close to the life you’ve led to this point.

Perhaps you’ve lived it all without a sense of God’s Presence. Perhaps you’ve always believed. Or, maybe like me, it happened for you somewhere along the way.

Wherever you’ve been, wherever you’re at and, more importantly, wherever you’re headed, there’s one truth that remains completely unchanged through it all:

Lamentations 3:22-24 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.” (ESV)

Through all those good times and bad, whether we realised it or not you and I, the Lord our God was with us. He got us through no matter how cold and wet, how dark and hopeless those days became. He rejoiced with us in our good times, though we knew it not. He ached for us when we wept.

And each morning, no matter what the previous day held, He caused the sun to rise. His mercies were new every morning. Great is His faithfulness.

So as you look ahead, may you know this: The Lord is your portion. Therefore, you can hope in Him.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
