2 Peter 1:3-4 Jesus has the power of God. And his power has given us everything we need to live a life devoted to God. We have these things because we know him. Jesus chose us by his glory and goodness, through which he also gave us the very great and rich gifts that he promised us. With these gifts you can share in being like God. And so you will escape the ruin that comes to people in the world because of the evil things they want.

Download audio fileThese days when you buy a new piece of furniture, it typically comes in the dreaded “flatpack”. But when you’re as mechanically inept as I am, I’m telling you, that’s a nightmare.
My study desk … yep, you guessed it … was delivered in flatpacks. It’s more like a wall unit, with a high backing, suspended cupboards, a floating benchtop and a drawer unit that all had to be assembled and then fixed to the wall lest the whole thing topple over and kill me.
Just as well I know Harry the handyman. Without him, the whole thing would still be just three flatpacks lying on the floor.
Along similar lines, many people find the very prospect of dedicating their lives to God, of living the life that’s now expected of them, every bit as daunting as I find flatpacks … and then some. But here’s the good news:
