John 1:12,13 But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God, who were born, not of blood or of the will of the flesh or of the will of man, but of God. (NRSV)

Download audio fileChristmas Eve. It can be a confronting time if we’ll allow it to be. Because in a sense, today demands of us an answer to this question: what will you be celebrating tomorrow? A family or religious tradition … or something more?
Look, I have no idea where you’re at today in terms of Christmas; in terms of your belief (or not) that we’re celebrating the coming of Jesus, the Son of God, to save us from ourselves, from our rebellion against Him, from an eternity of separation from Him.
Yesterday we chatted about the reality that many, many people have rejected Jesus either deliberately or by omission; either by considering the whole Jesus thing to be merely a fable … or by never quite getting around to thinking about Him and what He came to do.
Perhaps that describes you … or perhaps you’re someone who’s already given your life over to Jesus; someone whose heart swells with an indescribable joy at the mere mention of His name.
Wherever you’re at, my prayer is that you’ll allow these words, God’s Words, to shine His light into your heart today:
John 1:12,13 But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God, who were born, not of blood or of the will of the flesh or of the will of man, but of God. (NRSV)
The moment you say ‘yes’ to Jesus, you become a child of God and everything – everything – changes … now and for all eternity. May that truth help you answer your questions.
Because that’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
