Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts. “Rain and snow fall from the sky and don’t return until they have watered the ground. Then the ground causes the plants to sprout and grow, and they produce seeds for the farmer and food for people to eat. In fact, for some, it’s completely impossible.
Yeah, it was certainly impossible for me for a good many years. The two concepts – a chaotic world on the one hand and an all-loving, all-powerful God on the other – seem incongruous at best, completely ludicrous at worst.
So why don’t we give God a bit of airtime, as it were, to explain Himself?
Isaiah 55:8-11 The LORD says, “My thoughts are not like yours. Your ways are not like mine. In the same way, my words leave my mouth, and they don’t come back without results. My words make the things happen that I want to happen. They succeed in doing what I send them to do.
We don’t like storms, yet without them there’s no food to eat. And whilst God’s ways often don’t make sense, when He speaks things happen. When He speaks into our lives … man, things happen!
So please, do yourself a favour – allow Him to speak His love, His power into your life, even on those days when it just doesn’t make sense.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
