Romans 5:1,2 We have been made right with God because of our faith. So we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through our faith, Christ has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are very happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory.

Download audio fileQuestion: What was God thinking when He hatched this plan that these days we call “Christmas”? Okay, perhaps the Christmas we celebrate has morphed into something quite different. But if there is a God, why would He send Jesus His Son into our world?
Actually, “morphed”, “quite different”, don’t begin to describe what’s happened to our celebration of the coming of Jesus into our world. For some, it’s become a commercialised razzamatazz that bears absolutely no resemblance to God’s thought processes. For others, it’s not celebrated at all.
So, as we head towards this annual celebration of Christ-mas, let’s quietly search out God’s plan together.
Romans 5:1,2 We have been made right with God because of our faith. So we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through our faith, Christ has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are very happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory.
So for anyone who believes in Jesus, there’s a gift here to unwrap that is so stupendous that it beggars belief. Despite all we’ve done, we now have a right-standing before God through Jesus. We have peace with Him through Jesus. We can enjoy the blessing of His grace through Jesus. And we can rejoice in the certainty of one day sharing in God’s glory through Jesus.
We’ll unpack that some more over the coming days … but for now, just allow the enormity of that to sink in, smack-bang in the middle of your situation, your circumstances, your reality. Peace. Grace. Blessing. Joy. Hope. Glory. Jesus.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
