Hebrews 4:14-16 Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (NRSV)

So let me ask you, what does your future hold? I’m sure you have good plans for the year ahead. We all do. But perhaps there are some dark clouds on the horizon as well; some unsettling concerns about what tomorrow will bring.

If you’ve ever read the accounts of Jesus’ life and ministry in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke or John, you’ll no doubt like me have been amazed at His stunning miracles, His powerful preaching, His death and resurrection.

But have you ever thought of things from His perspective? He had problems, lots of them. He faced opposition from the devil and his demons, from the religious leaders … even from the crowds who’d witnessed His power. And it’s for that reason that you can trust Him with your future.

Jesus has been through it all – every temptation, every adversity that you and I will ever face, and then some. So He completely gets it. And because of that – therefore – you and I can come boldly before His throne to receive His mercy, to discover His grace, right there in our hour of need. You can trust your future to Jesus.

That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
