Psalm 96:1-4 Sing a new song to the LORD! Let the whole world sing to the LORD! Sing to the LORD and praise his name! Tell the good news every day about how he saves us! Tell all the nations how wonderful he is! Tell people everywhere about the amazing things he does. The LORD is great and worthy of praise.

Download audio fileOur own sense of wellbeing tends to go through stages. Sometimes with everything chugging along nicely, we feel just fine. Other times when we’re facing anything from moderate headwinds through to a force ten gale … well, not so much.
And there are times too when, for no apparent reason, we feel … blah! Things creep up on us without us realising it. Burnout, a key relationship that’s frayed around the edges, or the daily grind just grinding away at you more than it should be … yep, our sense of wellbeing ebbs and flows.
And no matter where you are on the wellbeing spectrum right at this moment, there’s one thing – perhaps the greatest remedy of all – that’s so easy for you (and for me) to forget to do.
That one thing that we forget to do is to praise the Lord. Sure, the words may roll off our tongue ever so easily – praise the Lord, brother, praise the Lord, sister! But this is so much more than a throwaway line.
When God’s praises are on our lips, He fills our heart with confidence and joy – so much so that we can’t contain it. We have to tell people about the great things, the amazing things, that He’s done in our lives.
Listen up – sing a new song to the Lord!
That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
