Download audio fileSo let me ask you, how do you set about building a good life; one that’s rich and satisfying; one that impacts those around you for good? How do you actually do that?
This is not a theoretical question, not by any means. We get one life to live on this earth and it slips away rather quickly. That’s why today and over the coming week we’re going to spend some time together looking at how to build this good life.
2 Peter 1:3,5 Jesus has the power of God. And his power has given us everything we need to live a life devoted to God … Because you have these blessings, do all you can to add to your life these things: to your faith add goodness.
In other words, through Jesus, if we believe in Him, God’s already given us the power we need to live a good life. In fact, rather than having to put it all together ourselves, He’s already given us everything we need to live a life devoted to God. Now it’s time to cooperate with Him in changing our lives.
Today, let’s just believe that. Let’s have faith that what He says is true. Believe that Jesus is who He says He is. Believe that God wants to impact your life for good. And add to that some of your natural goodness. I know, some days we don’t feel that good and we don’t act good either!
But if you’ve started to believe in Jesus, He’s already given you all you need. To your faith add goodness … and you’re well on your way.
