Psalm 19:1-4 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. (ESV)

Download audio fileBoth as a society, and as individuals, we have the most amazing capacity to deny that which is completely obvious. And that capacity to delude ourselves actually has dire consequences.
For decades, the evidence that smoking kills was plainly obvious. Yet, led by what we now know was the deliberate deception of the tobacco companies, we denied that truth. That denial killed millions.
For decades, the evidence that the heavily processed foods we’re eating are killing us has been plainly obvious. Yet obesity, heart attacks, strokes and diabetes are running rampant.
And since the beginning of time, it’s been plainly obvious that there is a God who created the universe with such incredible beauty and splendour – and yet still today, countless people reject Him as a myth, as a despot, as … well, pick an excuse, right?
And yet His existence and His love are as plain as the nose on my face:
Psalm 19:1-4 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. (ESV)
As I said … plainly obvious to all. The heavens declare the glory of God. The sky above proclaims his handiwork.
So, you can either deny that which is plainly obvious to your eternal peril – or you can revel in it, delighting in God and all that He’s provided for you and done for you, to your eternal glory with Him.
So choose – but choose wisely.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
