Download audio fileDo you believe in Jesus? Do you believe that He died to pay the price of your sins and rose again to give you a new, abundant, eternal life? Then I have some good news for you today – some very good news.
Yesterday we chatted about the powerful truth that if you believe in Jesus, then you’ve already been blessed with every spiritual blessing through Him. The two operative words there being “already” and “every”.
But let’s take that one step further, because there’s a point to this blessing – a radical and abundant outflow of God’s grace towards us.
Ephesians 1:3,4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, just as he chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless before him in love. (NRSV)Let’s just stop for a moment and let that sink in. Before the universe was even created, you were chosen in Christ … yes, you … in the heart of God. And not just to be blessed, as though that weren’t enough.
But to be holy and blameless before Him in love. In other words, the blood of Christ has washed you clean, made you pure as the driven snow before God, your sin completely washed away through what Jesus has done for you.
And the next step in that radical blessing on your road to eternity is to live out your life, holy and blameless. That’s the second part and just as important because that’s your destiny in Christ. So if you want next year to be better than the last, live out your destiny. Live your life holy and blameless.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
