2 Corinthians 9:6.7 Remember this: The one who plants few seeds will have a small harvest. But the one who plants a lot will have a big harvest. Each one of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give. You should not give if it makes you unhappy or if you feel forced to give. God loves those who are happy to give.

Download audio fileWhen was the last time you gave something out of love, yet it made you feel sad, as though you’d lost something? That’s not generally how it works, is it? The love-gift invariably brings joy, both to the one who receives and to the one who gives?
When our granddaughter was born my wife, Jacqui and I, set up a bank account for her and started putting a small amount away each month because out of little things, big things grow.
Each month when that money’s transferred from our account into hers, my banking app pops up a notification on my phone. And each time that happens, my heart experiences this starburst of joy. That’s how it is, when you give a gift out of love.
So if we say that we love God, shouldn’t it be the exact same thing?
2 Corinthians 9:6,7 Remember this: The one who plants few seeds will have a small harvest. But the one who plants a lot will have a big harvest. Each one of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give. You should not give if it makes you unhappy or if you feel forced to give. God loves those who are happy to give.
There’s meant to be a joy in our giving toward God’s work, be it of our resources, of our time or of our God-given gifts and abilities. And there’s a heart decision involved there, a deliberate choice to give out of the joy of our salvation, out of the joy of walking day-by-day with Jesus.
You may think, I don’t have much to give. But plant a small acorn and one day, it’ll be a mighty oak tree.
Remember this: The one who plants few seeds will have a small harvest. But the one who plants a lot will have a big harvest.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Hello.
Thank you for your reply. And yes, I do realise we must give to others. I do try. But as money is short. I give in other ways. I’m
Not bragging! My door is always open to the old and young. I do volunteer work for senior people from the church. I may not have cash but my heart is kind. I do appreciate all your work and feel so happy I have found you. God bless you all
