Isaiah 41:9,10 You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off”; do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. (NRSV)

Download audio fileDo you believe in Jesus? If so, then your faith in Him is meant to give you victory: victory over your sin and victory over your circumstances, because often the combination of those two can be downright scary.
You know when you’ve dug yourself a deep hole through your rebellion against God and then the storm clouds come rolling in … the lightning, the thunder … it’s a scary place to be. All the more so because, at least in part, it’s your own fault.
But that’s life – the life of an imperfect person like you or me. And if we’re going to talk about growing your faith – which is what we’re doing this week in Fresh – we need to get down together to the bottom of that deep, dark, scary hole for a moment … and allow God to shine His light in that place.
Isaiah 41:9,10 You are my servant, I have chosen you and not cast you off”; do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. (NRSV)
My prayer is that you’d receive that powerful word from Him into your heart today, to know beyond any shadow of a doubt that it remains especially true at the bottom of that black hole.
Because it’s in that place that God’s grace and mercy are there for you in their greatest abundance. Never lose hope. Never lose sight of the many-splendoured love of Christ. Because down there in that hole is the sweetest place to experience it firsthand.
God means to strengthen your faith in Him down in that hole.
That’s His Word. Fresh … for you … today.
