1 Corinthians 1:26-29 Brothers and sisters, God chose you to be his. Think about that! Not many of you were wise in the way the world judges wisdom. Not many of you had great influence, and not many of you came from important families. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise. He chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. And God chose what the world thinks is not important—what the world hates and thinks is nothing. He chose these to destroy what the world thinks is important. God did this so that no one can stand before him and boast about anything.

That puts things into perspective! And amongst the eight billion people on the earth right now, there are so many who’re smarter, more important, wealthier than you and me. So could it really be possible that an all-powerful, all-loving God would be at all interested … in us?
Well, I have some good news for you. If you truly believe in Jesus, if you cling to the Cross of Christ through all the failures and storms of your life, then you are His chosen child.

Jesus looked so incredibly foolish in the eyes of the world as He hung there on that Cross. And so we look foolish to the world too, when we believe in Him. But if we do, then in this great cosmos we are chosen to be His. Think about that!
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
