Many people suffer from low self-esteem because of the way they were treated in their formative years. Abuse survivors often carry scars that affect them deeply. Without doubt, there are a good many negative relationships and experiences that can shape our lives.
On the other hand, someone who’s grown up in a safe home with loving parents – rich or poor … doesn’t matter – will likely have a very different perspective on the world and where they fit into it.
For me, it was something of a mixed bag. Great parents, safe home, good education but an unhealthy dose of pride that ruined much of my early adult life. When the glory of God shines into your heart through Jesus, God’s own Son, it changes you; it heals you; it fills you with a light, a warmth, a joy, a peace beyond words. And the closer you draw to Jesus, the more He transforms you from one degree of glory to the next.
Jesus changes everything.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
