Romans 5:10 While we were God’s enemies, he made friends with us through his Son’s death. And the fact that we are now God’s friends makes it even more certain that he will save us through his Son’s life.

Download audio fileYou may have noticed that this week, we’ve had a bit of a focus on this whole subject of the creeping evil, the darkness that seems to be enveloping our world and threatening our lives at the same time.
Just as I was preparing today’s message early the other morning, as I usually do, the sun was coming up over the horizon. Each morning I just need to glance over my left shoulder to see yet another beautiful sunrise.
After every long, dark night, the sunrise always comes and it’s always a sight to behold. Which leads me into the unfair advantage that you and I have over the spiritual powers of darkness that threaten to rob us of life itself.
Romans 5:10 While we were God’s enemies, he made friends with us through his Son’s death. And the fact that we are now God’s friends makes it even more certain that he will save us through his Son’s life.
What’s the unfair advantage that we have? Jesus died for our sins, which means that when we put our trust in Him, we’re forgiven, and so we become friends of God. But Jesus didn’t just die. He also rose again … and the fact that we are now God’s friends makes it even more certain that he will save us through his Son’s life
If you believe in Jesus, you believe in a risen Saviour. He conquered evil on that cross, He conquered death through that empty tomb and that victory now belongs to you, no matter how dark the world seems, no matter how powerful the forces of evil may appear. Jesus Himself is saving you through His life. Tell that to the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places. Because if that ain’t an unfair advantage, I don’t know what is!
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
