Download audio fileIt’s funny isn’t it, how it’s invariably the little things that can bring us unstuck? One small spark can burn down a whole forest. One small pebble can send a horse lame. Yep, sometimes you have to pay attention to those little things.
I recently had a new exhaust fan installed over the shower in my bathroom – the old one had given up the ghost. Now this new one has a nice brushed aluminium grill that looks really nice against the white tiles.
The problem was that when you flicked the switch, it didn’t work. There was a hum, but the fan wouldn’t spin. So, of course, we had the electrician come back to fix it.
It turned out that there was the tiniest little pebble inside, jammed between the fan blades and the outer casing. The moment he removed it, it started working the way it was meant to.
It turns out that you and I can look fantastic on the outside too, but isn’t it always the way that it’s the tiniest little things on the inside that stop us from working the way the Manufacturer always intended? You know – those little flaws that hold us back. We can try to ignore them, but they’ll still rob us of life.
Come on … today, here and now, what’s the tiny little pebble inside your life, your makeup, your psyche, that’s holding you back? Can you pinpoint it? And if so, what are you going to do about it?
Proverbs 12:15 Fools always think their own way is best, but wise people listen to what others tell them.
Chances are that someone close to you is being driven absolutely crazy by that one little pebble in your makeup. Chances are they’ve already told you about it a million times.
The question is … what are you going to do about it?
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Those irritating pebbles produce a pearl.
Or when put through intense heat and fire become a diamond.
And from the muddy waters, up stands a strong, resilient, and beautiful lotus flower .
