Ephesians 3:18,19 I pray that you and all God’s holy people will have the power to understand the greatness of Christ’s love—how wide, how long, how high, and how deep that love is. Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with everything God has for you.

Download audio fileDo you ever look up at the vastness of the night sky and marvel at the countless stars up there? And they’re only the tiniest fraction of the trillion, trillion stars in the known universe. How can mere mortals like you and me comprehend such incomprehensible numbers?
After all, to count to one trillion (one second at a time without a break) would take almost 32,000 years. Impossible! So, a trillion, trillion? I mean, mind blowing!
That’s the sense of what the Apostle Paul writes to his friends in Ephesus, some two thousand years ago (remembering that if you’d been able to start counting to a trillion back when he wrote those words, you’d still only be one sixteenth of the way there!)
Do you see the dichotomy there? I pray that you’d have the power to understand the greatness of Christ’s love… but Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know … but I still pray that you’ll be able to know that love.
This incomprehensible enormity of God’s love for you in Jesus Christ – the One who died and rose again for you – is what He wants you to know. May your heart, your mind, your very being be completely blown away by that love, His love.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
