John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.”

The problem is the truth is the truth, and no amount of fighting it is going to change it. At the end of the day, it’s still the truth.
Most of us these days are so focussed on what’s happening here and now that we’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to dream about tomorrow, let alone think about eternity.
Well, let me tell you eternity is an awfully long time, so it bears some thinking about. The popular view these days is that it doesn’t matter what you believe in – just believe it with all your heart and you’ll be right.
But Jesus quite simply didn’t give us that option. When asked the question,
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.”
Now I’m sorry if that’s politically incorrect. I’m sorry if it offends some peoples’ sensibilities. And I’m sorry if it doesn’t fit with your view of how God should behave.
But if God is God, then He gets to choose. And His choice was to send His Son Jesus to die to pay for your failures and mine so that if we put our faith in Him we can have eternal life.
That’s it! No ifs, no buts, no maybes.
I read something somewhere recently that said, “God isn’t who we think He should be, or who we’d perhaps like Him to be. God is who He says He is.”
That’s a stumbling block for many. Jesus is a stumbling block for many.
But He is the way, the truth, and the life and the only way to the Father is through Him.
Take it or leave it. My prayer for you is that you’ll take it.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
