2 Chronicles 7:13,14 When I close the sky so that there is no rain, or command the locusts to destroy the land, or send sicknesses to my people and if my people who are called by my name become humble and pray, and look for me, and turn away from their evil ways, then I will hear them from heaven. I will forgive their sin and heal their land.

As politically incorrect, unpopular and old-fashioned things go, the subject of repentance would have to be right up there at the top of the list. Repentance – what the blazes does it mean anyhow? Who even talks that way anymore these days? Give me a break!!!
So many people believe in Jesus, even love Jesus and yet in their experience, life with Him seems to fall so far short of what He promises. Why is that? What’s going on?
Well, the biggest reason that I see is that we want to hang on to our sin as though somehow you can have a rich, dynamic, powerful relationship with God, while still living your life in rebellion against Him. Let’s get a revelation today: it just doesn’t work like that. It’s one or the other – you can’t have both.
So God’s call to you and me today is simple: humble yourself, seek His face, turn from your evil ways … and then He will forgive us our sin and heal our land.
That, my friend, is what they call … repentance. You can’t hang onto your sin and expect a rich relationship with Jesus. You just can’t.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
