Psalm 32:8 The Lord says, "I will teach you and guide you in the way you should live. I will watch over you and be your guide.”
You mention that old line, “You should read your Bible more often,” and you can just hear people groaning. But today, I want to share a powerful story with you.
Early this morning … it happened again. I can’t tell you how often it’s happened and each time it just blows me away. Here’s how it happened.
I had a major decision to make, a “big direction” decision, for the ministry of Christianityworks in which I’m involved. Someone had made what seemed like a brilliant suggestion, it sounded good, but was it what God wanted? That’s always the question, isn’t it?
So I prayed, “Lord, it sounds good, but is it your will?”
I’m currently reading through the book of Psalms. So this morning, I went to the next chapter that I was due to read … and right there in the first few verses, was God’s unmistakable answer to my question.
It was so specific, so clear, so completely unmistakable as the Spirit of God spoke to me through His Word. I knew absolutely which direction to take. Just imagine though, if I’d stayed in bed and left the good book closed this morning. Just imagine!
Psalm 32:8 The Lord says, “I will teach you and guide you in the way you should live. I will watch over you and be your guide.”
Now sure, God can speak to us in so many different ways, through dreams and visions. I’ve even been sitting in a movie theatre and the Holy Spirit hit me right between the eyes with something I needed to know through the movie’s story line.
But the main way He speaks, is through His Word, the Bible. The question is, come on, be honest, are you listening?
Open your Bible, every day, because if you don’t, you’ll miss out.
That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
