If only God would behave in a way that makes sense. If only God wouldn’t leave us in the lurch, right when we need Him. If only God would … if only, right?

God doesn’t always treat His faithful servants the way we’d expect Him to. Take Elijah the Prophet. God tells him to pronounce a drought over Israel because of their disobedience, which he faithfully does, despite the great unpopularity that it would bring. And accordingly, the rain stops.

1 Kings 17:2-3,7 Then the Lord said to Elijah, “Leave this place and go east. Hide near Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan River … There was no rain, so after a while the stream became dry.

Seriously God?! Elijah’s served you faithfully and yet You still let the stream run dry!

Have you ever felt that you’ve served God really well, and then right in the middle of it all, right after some great act of faithfulness or courage on your part, God’s provision … runs dry?

Why did God do that to Elijah? God, why are you doing this to me? Why has your blessing, your provision, your favour run dry? That’s what we want to know, right?

Well, as despondent as Elijah may have been, as much as in his heart he may have been questioning God’s wisdom, it turns out that God had another plan; a plan to bless a faithful widow and her son through Elijah in a whole different place.

So when the stream runs dry, remember, God’s plans don’t always revolve around the likes of thee and me. More often than not, He wants to put us in a different place, not just to bless us, but to bless someone else as well.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

Hi,
Message touched my soul. Things in the present place seem to be dried, but God will have definite plan to take me to other place in order to bless somebody in that place. Surrendering myself for Gods plan in my life. Ready to act as per the will of God.
Thanks for this message from the life of Elijah.
